Three weeks ago, baby Alison turned one year old! It’s almost hard to believe her newborn session was a whole year ago. I have been waiting for her cake smash and one year portraits literally since she was born. They were everything I hoped they would be!

She has grown into such a big, sweet baby with a curious nature. Not to mention precious as can be and super pretty in pink.

Hi, world! says Alison.

I put a lot of planning into the setup for Alison’s cake smash setup. I even rehabbed a little Walmart confetti cake for her! This was my first time using balloons in the studio .. and you should know I’m obsessed now.

At some point during the shoot, Alison lost interest in using her fingers in the cake. (Why are one year olds the only humans that don’t realize how great cake is??) So we got her a fork from the kitchen and let her do her thing.

All in all, a super successful cake smash. Alison had a blast smashing her cake with mom, dad, and big brother Ryan gathered around cheering her on. Happy Birthday, Baby A!
